Hey there, Good Sheet readers! This week, we're talking about the power of simple habits and how they can lead to big improvements in our mental and physical health.

We all know that drinking water, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly are important for good health, but did you know that these simple habits can have a big impact on our mental and physical well-being?
A couple things that I have been doing to increase my dopamine levels so I can enjoy the small things throughout the day are: Not looking at my phone for the first 30 minutes of the day (tried the first two hours with no success) and I have been establishing more of a night time routine - these two very simple things have been helping me stay happy throughout the day by feeling structured by a simple task and limiting screen time first thing in the morning.
Let's start with drinking water. Not only does it help regulate body temperature and absorb essential nutrients, but it's also been shown to improve brain function and increase energy levels. Plus, hydration is key to keeping your skin looking its best! So, make sure to drink up, especially if you're feeling sluggish or experiencing skin issues.

Next up, sleep. Getting enough shuteye is crucial for good mental and physical health. It helps reduce stress and anxiety, improve memory and cognitive function, and boost our immune system. So, make sure to get those z's and wake up feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day!

And finally, exercise. Even just a small amount of physical activity has been shown to improve mental health and well-being. Exercise releases endorphins, which are natural mood boosters, and can help reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. Plus, regular exercise can improve physical health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and increase energy levels. So, get moving and feel the benefits!

Drinking Water: Try to drink a glass of water before each meal and snack. Carry a refillable water bottle with you and refill it throughout the day. Water is also a great way to stay fuller throughout the day if you are focused on a caloric deficit.
Getting Sleep: Establish a bedtime routine and stick to it every night. Avoid screens for at least 30 minutes before bedtime and create a relaxing environment in your bedroom by keeping it dark, quiet, and cool.
Exercise: Choose an activity you enjoy and do it for 10 minutes a day. Gradually increase the duration and intensity of your workouts as you feel comfortable. You would be surprised how fast your steps add up even as you are walking around your workspace.
So there you have it, folks! By incorporating these simple habits into your daily routine, you can lead a healthier and happier life. Whether you're looking to improve brain function, boost your mood, or simply feel better overall, drinking water, getting enough sleep, and exercising regularly are key to success.
